You can of course get Papers Past via DigitalNZ API, however not all publications or all data related to Papers Past is accessible in this way. I’ve released a Jupyter Notebook to allows others to collect a specific periodical in a conservative way. I haven’t used it since 2021, but it may be useful if you are interested in analysing some of the unique publications available.
